Call For Submissions - Get Lucky: An Anthology

Call for Submissions – Get Lucky: An Anthology

Get Lucky is an anthology of everything Filipino in Singapore, exploring and celebrating the themes of family, faith, friendship, love, and of course, the place that cuts across the lives of Filipinos in Singapore: Lucky Plaza. It seeks to provide a glimpse of the Filipino’s life in Singapore, using the 24-hour slice-of-life approach, intersecting with Filipinos’ frequently visited places as signposted by major MRT stops.

We are looking for original poetry, short fiction, and personal narratives that tackle these themes, preferably set against an MRT station as a backdrop, from Filipinos based, or previously based, in Singapore.

Submission Guidelines:
1.    Contributions must be in English and must not have been published elsewhere, in print or online.
2.     Short fiction must be between 1500 and 2500 words; personal narratives must not exceed 1500 words; and poetry contributions must be a maximum of 40 lines.
3.     Poetry submission is limited to three poems per contributor.
4.     Submissions must be in MS Word format—Times New Roman font size 12
5.   Submissions must come with a cover note that includes the contributor’s full name, contact information, and 50-word bio.

Send your submissions to getlucky.anthology@gmail.com with the subject line “Get Lucky submission”. Deadline for submission is October 31, 2014. Contributors will get a free copy of the book.
